Logos
Logos created for various purposes. Whether it's a show logo, a one-off background prop, or something central to the entire story of the show, I treat every logo with care and consideration, insuring that it serves both the story and the production designer's vision to perfection.
DC's Stargirl: JSA Seal
This seal is the symbol of the Justice Society of America, the superhero team at the heart of the Stargirl series, with roots in the comics going back to 1940. My design pays homage to the various designs that have existed over the past 80+ years, while maintaining a modern feel. By balancing these two approaches, the logo embodies the theme of legacy that was central to the series.
Average Joe: Donut shop logo
A one-off logo for a donut box and shop window, the goal was to capture the homey feeling of a small chain with a homegrown image.
Average Joe: Plumber Logo Options
I like to start with a variety of logo options within the parameters of tone that I've been given. I prefer to start in a single-color design and work in color as needed, as this offers the greatest range of flexibility.
Dynasty: Atlanta Football Club Logo Options
Though I prefer to start logo options in a single-color, in this instance, it seemed appropriate to use the color scheme that had been settled on from the start. I built all these options around the idea of using Atlanta's phoenix motif, while still offering a good mix of options to choose from.
Dynasty: Record Company Logo Options
These were mostly on the theme of breaking or segmenting the logo to act as a visual representation of the name, ranging from the literal (#1) to more interpretive takes.
Powerpuff: Show Logo
I based the design largely on the classic Powerpuff Girls logo, making it a bit sleeker and removing "girls" from the logo. I also created an entire custom Powerpuff font for this purpose, also based on the classic logo, but cleaner and more refined.
Star Trek Picard: Clinic Logo Options
Various options for a community clinic.
DC's Stargirl: BVHS Seal
As a high school show, this fat and friendly hand-drawn prairie dog mascot features heavily throughout the three seasons.
Star: Hunter Morgan Foundation Logo
In the show, Hunter Morgan was an NFL player who passed away. This was a charitable foundation in his name, so making his initials into the shape of a football seemed a no-brainer. (I actually thought it was a bit cheesy, but the bosses loved it!)
DC's Stargirl: BVMS Logo
This was an homage to a DC Comics character, so I went with a custom-drawn mascot that balanced being referential to the character, while still looking like a likely middle school mascot.
Survivor's Remorse: Airline Logo
A "boutique" airline, the logo is simple, sleek, and conveys the concept of flight.
When the Streetlights Go Out: Colfax City Seal
Set in the fictional city of Colfax Illinois, this 80s period piece takes place during a time in which the city is attempting to revitalize and modernize. As this is yet to happen, the seal evokes the pioneers who founded the city.
Sleepy Hollow: Colonial Times Logo
It's a restaurant like Medieval Times, but with a Colonial theme.
Survivor's Remorse: Police Seal
Though set in Atlanta, for one episode we were unable to use the Atlanta Police due to the portrayal of police violence. So we made the fictitious Buckhead Police (for the Atlanta neighborhood),
Life of the Party: Decatur Tigers Logo
In a movie about returning to college, this was seen massively throughout, and in a myriad of different variations.
Life of the Part: "Evil" Frat Crest
What's a college movie without a villainous frat house? This is evocative of traditional heraldry to indicate old money and power, long-established and venerated by a certain class of people.
Life of the Party: "Hero" Frat Logo
For the "good guys" frat, we've gone with a more simplified and friendly crest that feels like a newer group who is not quite managing to portray the gravitas of their peers.
Life of the Party: University Seal
Our fictitious college use the grounds of Agnes Scott College for its exteriors, so I made a seal which included the iconic gateway arch that our characters would walk through.
Notorious: Law Firm Logo
Classic and simple, with a touch of class. Sometimes, less is more.
Survivor's Remorse: IQ Testing Company Logo
Needing to read as "smart" at a glance, this logo was designed as an atom (science!) with the company's initials taken from negative space.
Notorious: Paraspot Social Media Logo
This logo includes my design thoughts. I don't always include my thinking in this way, but it is indicative of how I approach all my graphics.
Survivor's Remorse: GSE Logo
I think the show runner had a lot on his mind when he was asked what he wanted the mascot for this college to be, because he replied "I dunno... a slug." Creating such an unconventional mascot was a fun challenge and "Sluggo the Slug" remains one of my all-time favorite custom-drawn mascots.
Life of the Party: "Evil" Sorority Crest
These are the chief antagonists of the movie.
Life of the Party: "Hero" Sorority Crest
The sorority of our protagonists.
Notorious: WCN Logo
This is the cable news network at the center of the entire show. It needed to feel like it could be the CNN of this world, without feeling like a parody of it.
